About This Quote

This quote is a personal favorite of mine. It reminds me to always be myself and to be comfortable in my own skin. "Why are you trying so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out?" is a very popular question. The answer, I have found, is because we crave acceptance and love from others.

We fear being alone. This is especially true for those who fail at fitting in. In fact, there are many reasons people may try too hard to fit in.

They may want the approval of others or need validation from their peers or family members. Others, like me, may have been hurt by previous relationships and fear being alone again. It doesn't really matter why we do these things because the end result is the same: We give up our true selves and try way too hard to fit in with the crowd.
